Ghassan and Nadia Sakhtian Foundation Supports the Development of the Visual Arts Forum Branch in the Old Town of Kufr Aqab
The Ghassan and Nadia Sakhtian Foundation has contributed to the development of the Visual Arts Forum’s branch in the Old Town of Kufr Aqab, north of Jerusalem, helping enhance the branch’s readiness to welcome participants and launch artistic and community-based workshops and courses, particularly in the fields of ceramics, clay arts, and stained glass.
This contribution comes as part of the Foundation’s programs supporting culture and the arts, with a focus on strengthening cultural and artistic initiatives that help build a creative and aware generation, develop individual capacities, and provide educational opportunities through the Visual Arts Forum. The Forum serves children, youth, women, artists, and the wider local community.
Through this partnership, the Visual Arts Forum is also implementing a two-month art program in collaboration with the Women’s Renaissance Association, targeting students with disabilities. The program offers participants hands-on experiences in arts and crafts, enhancing sensory engagement, supporting self-expression, and fostering imagination, confidence, and interaction within a safe and inclusive creative environment.
The Foundation’s support contributed to equipping the ceramics studio at the new branch, strengthening the Forum’s capacity to provide practical and specialized training in clay modeling and ceramic arts. It also enables participants to engage in a comprehensive artistic and craft-based experience that combines learning, creativity, and production.
Thanks to this contribution, the Forum’s Kufr Aqab branch is now better equipped to host participants and implement workshops, courses, and community activities. The Forum has also begun strengthening its relationships with local schools and institutions and is working to develop inclusive art programs that serve diverse segments of the community.
The Visual Arts Forum emphasized that this contribution represents an important step toward activating the Cultural and Creative Industries Center in Kufr Aqab and establishing a sustainable model that combines arts education, craft production, and community engagement. Such efforts contribute to the continuity and growth of cultural and artistic work in the area.
The Sakhtian Foundation also highlighted the importance of supporting the Visual Arts Forum’s efforts to strengthen the presence of arts and crafts in Kufr Aqab and to expand the reach of its activities and experiences to as many beneficiaries as possible, especially given the positive impact these experiences have on participants’ personal growth and development.
The Visual Arts Forum highly values the support provided by the Ghassan and Nadia Sakhtian Foundation, which has helped create an active and accessible artistic space for the community—one that promotes access to the arts, supports creative education, and provides a nurturing environment for learning, production, and artistic expression in the heart of Kufr Aqab’s Old Town.
