Project of “Training and Rehabilitation of Artists”
The object and location of the action
This project was implemented at VAF / YAF center. It served cultural centers within Ramallah camps and villages. The aim of the project was qualifying 15 young artists from ages 14-24 years old to work with training centers in villages and Ramallah refugee camps, in order to activate the cultural and artistic achievement in these centers.
Results
- The graduates were given authenticated certificates from the Ministry of Education.
- Parts of the graduates are working in the mentioned cultural centers and others are following up the educational programs in VAF/YAF.
- Twelve young trainers successfully graduated from the training sessions that lasted for 6 months.
- Production of large numbers of paintings and art exhibitions

Project of “Enhancement of Vocational Art for Teachers in Both Public and Private Schools”
The object and location of the action
This project was implemented in 35 elementary schools with the coordination of the Ministry of Education. The target areas were Ramallah city and in some of Nablus’ villages’. The concept of this project was thoroughly training 35 art teachers through the conduction of training workshops at VAF/YAF centre. Teachers were visited at their schools and a 3 hour workshop was implemented with the participation of their students.
Results
- Enhanced the capabilities of 35 teachers in the preparation of the training material and a numbers of sketches were studied.
- The direct beneficiaries from this project were around 1000 students.
- The comprehension of the educational curriculum implemented in schools was easily absorbed by teachers and was reflected in their works

Project of “Illustration Arts courses for Artists” – Three Stages
The object and location
Following the big success achieved by this project (Stage I), the project has been funded by Diakonia for three years, the (2004, 2006 and 2008). The idea of this project is setting up a school for art illustration in Palestine that aims to develop Palestinian children’s books.
Results
- Most of the graduates have already embarked on practicing and publishing their painted stories.
- After successfully passing the illustration sessions that lasted for 11 months, twelve young artists graduated in art illustration.
- Improved VAF’S / YAF’s experiences in the field of training youth through the implementation of the second stage of the illustration project, which includes bringing foreign experts. Local art trainers would benefit from the foreign experts’ experience through participating in the training.
- Conducting an exhibition of graduates’ works that included 90 illustrated stories .
- The exhibition was transferred to Al-Najah University in Nablus, in order to promote the fine art studies, and to encourage interested individuals to join YAF illustration school after completing their university education.

Project of “Vocational Rehabilitation of Talented Young Females in Arts”
The object and location
The project was implemented in Ramallah at the YAF centre; the purpose of this project was to offer talented unemployed females training in artistic matters and then offering them certificates validated by the Ministry of education.
Results
- 12 unemployed females were trained in artistic measures in kindergartens and infant centers.
