The mission of the Ramallah-based Visual Arts Forum, a leading institution in the field of culture and Visual Arts, is to promote community development in the arts sector for youth and children. Through arts and culture in general, the foundation seeks to promote societal concepts that are appropriate to the spirit of the age, such as democracy and human rights. The forum was established in mid-2002 as a non-profit organization and was officially licensed and registered by the Palestinian Ministry of Interior / Ramallah on December 23rd of the same year to contribute to community development through art as a means to raise active and equal children and young people. The forum also targets all those interested in visual arts with a focus on children and young people in Palestine. Furthermore, the Forum believes in the importance of belongingness, equality, voluntary action, transparency and accountability as the organizing values and principles of its work. The Forum basically includes 9 members in its administrative board and 30 other members in the general assembly.
