Course Description:

Pablo Picasso once said, "The farthest point I wanted to reach in the art of painting, I found that Arabic calligraphy had already preceded me long ago." Arabic calligraphy is a beautiful art form known for its ability to cultivate taste and sensitivity. This course is designed for beginners wishing to explore the world of Arabic calligraphy, taking them from the basics of writing letters to producing elegant calligraphic artworks.

Whether you are an employee, a business owner, a homemaker, or a university student, if you have always wanted to learn Arabic calligraphy and have some time for leisure, self-expression, or simply "doing something for yourself," this course is for you. If you are an emerging artist, a student, or a graduate of an arts college looking to enhance your skills, you will discover the broad horizons of Arabic calligraphy, focusing on the various styles and how to create beautiful calligraphic pieces.

Course Program:

Writing Letters in Different Styles: (First Month)

Learn how to write Arabic letters using a special ink pen for calligraphy.

Master the art of letter formation with a reed pen and calligraphy ink.

Writing Words and Sentences: (Second Month)

Discover how to connect letters to form words using the reed pen.

Understand how to arrange words into sentences harmoniously with the reed pen.

Designing and Producing Calligraphic Artworks: (Third and Fourth Months)

Learn to design artworks featuring popular proverbs, quotes, names, and more.

Create a complete piece on special paper designed for Arabic writing.

Opportunities:

Participate in discussions with artists through the forum's "Dialogue with an Artist" program.

Join periodic exhibitions held by the forum in Palestine and abroad.

Engage in community service through art if desired.

Required Materials:

Special papers for Arabic calligraphy – provided by the forum.

A special ink pen for Arabic calligraphy – provided by the forum.

One reed pen – provided by the forum.

Beginner ink – provided by the forum.

Additional reed pens in sizes 7, 8, and 9 – to be provided by the student.

Special ink for producing artworks – to be provided by the student.

Special papers for producing calligraphic artworks – to be provided by the student.

Tuition Fees: 1,400 Shekels for 4 months.
