Course Name: Academic Drawing Course (1)

Description: The first course in the academic program, consisting of 6 academic courses.

Age Group: Ages 12 to 70

Days: Evenings from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Who Can Enroll in Academic Courses?

This course is for anyone talented or interested in learning drawing and artistic production, with a passion to understand the techniques and concepts of drawing and colors from A to Z, regardless of age. It opens new doors to the world of visual art and visual artists. The forum provides an interactive educational, social, and cultural space where you can express your thoughts, feelings, and reflections through artistic productions, taught by specialized and experienced artists. For youth and adults, you will enjoy a fun and beneficial time in a social and cultural context, where you can learn techniques and concepts in visual arts. For young people, it is an opportunity for parents to discover and develop their children's talents in a safe social environment that nurtures creativity and respects each child's individuality, which can influence their future academic and professional choices. Many graduates of the forum have pursued distinguished careers in various fields, including visual artists, animation, film production, video art, graphic design, engineering, dentistry, administration, and more. Most importantly, they are active individuals who work in what they love, excel in their fields, and possess social skills in their social, professional, and family contexts.

The Visual Arts School offers an academic track consisting of 6 academic courses, each lasting four months. Students meet twice a week for two hours each session, totaling 64 learning hours per course. During this time, students learn all the techniques and concepts for producing still life, urban scenes, portrait drawings, landscapes, and more, using various mediums such as pencil, charcoal, ink, oil, acrylic, mixed media, collage, and more. They will acquire diverse techniques in how to use colors for shadow, light, perspective, realism, abstraction, and more.

Course Program:

Training your hand to hold the pencil and draw straight and curved lines smoothly.

Understanding the elements of artwork and their application, including point, line, balance, mass, texture, and materials.

Learning about the composition of the painting and its relationship with space, void, masses, and elements, including the golden ratio.

Learning principles of perspective, including proportions and their relationship to space and masses in the painting.

Learning and applying theories of light and shadow and how they fall on shapes with various reflections.

Learning to draw still life scenes containing various materials: fabric, wood, stone, pottery.

Learning to draw urban scenes with various materials: buildings, houses, streets, columns, etc.

Using the following mediums: pencils, charcoal, colored pencils.

Exploring the beginnings of art history and realism.

Getting to know several Palestinian and international artists and their styles in painting and production in line with the course program.

Opportunities:

Visiting an artist's studio and exhibition.

Attending regular artist meetings organized by the forum.

Participating in periodic exhibitions in Palestine and abroad.

Competing in art competitions in Palestine and abroad.

Engaging in community service projects using art if desired.

Canson A4 Sketchbook

Pencils, charcoal set, colored pencil set.

Tuition Fees:

1,400 Shekels for four months.
